Pat Robertson
This is an nod to comment that Pat Robertson made after Haiti was hit by the earthquake in January. He said that Haiti is being punished by God for pushing the French out of their country in the 18th century. You know, there are lots of crazy old men out there that say the most ridiculous things, it doesn't mean the media has to report on it. The man lost all credibility after the 9-11 comment. J.C. would indeed take him down.

Glenn Beck
It was hard to finish both Beck and O'Reilly but the Glitter Series must be fair and balanced.

The Starr Report Tea Set (collectors edition)

Detail: Ken/Linda and Bill/Monica Tea Pot
The Report would not exist without these important secondary figures. Ken Starr is responsible the Report and for wasting about $70 million when coupled with the earlier investigations of Whitewater and Travelgate. Linda Tripp is a key figure for the Report, without her recordings of Monica we may have never known in excruciating detail exactly what happened between Bill and Monica.

The Starr Report Tea Set (collectors edition)

Detail - Bill and Monica Creamer
The design is a motif of objects that are referenced in the Report : Altoids, thongs and pizza. The motif is repeated throughout the different objects in the set.

Starr Report Tea Set
After many readings of what is probably the best impeachment hearing document in American history, I created this tea set. You know it's good when it contains that following: " WARNING: The following report contains sexually explicit language." Awesome.

Glitter Painting Series

Stephen Colbert
God willing this will somehow make it onto the Colbert Report or Colbert Nation....someday.

Glitter Painting Series

Keith Olbermann
This one is probably my favorite. I can just hear him saying " How dare you sir!". Again, all made possible by Martha.

Glitter Painting Series

Rachel Maddow
All made possible through the glory of Martha Stewart glitter. Say what what you will about Martha but her glitter is amazing.

The Political Strategist Commemorative Plate Series - Carville

James Carville
It was challenging to gather enough dirt for Carville. I hate to say this but Carville did not employ the same tactics and strategies that Rove and Atwater used, no racist overtones, no use of homophobia and no whisper campaigns of mental illness against an opponent's wife. Boring! The only "dirty" campaign trick was use of the lottery as a voter gimmick of solving that age old question of how to keep revenue flowing without (gasp!) raising taxes. Carville's solution was the lottery, it would generate revenue without the need to increase taxes. The problem with the lottery solution is that it is shouldered by the majority of people that buy lottery tickets (the lower to moderate income individuals) so it effectively becomes a voluntary tax on those individuals. It wasn't even used in any national campaigns, mainly state elections in the south.

The Political Strategist Commemorative Plate Series - Rove

 Karl Rove
Ah, Rove provided a rich resource for this composition. If anything I had to eliminate images. I stuck with the classic motifs: Swift boats, chads, terror alert levels and John McCain's daughter ( not Meghan). I drew many similarities from the strategies that Rove employed in his two campaigns for George W. to the masterful Atwater campaign of 1988.

The Political Strategist Commemorative Plate Series

Lee Atwater
Athough, Atwater had a short lived career (compared to Karl Rove) as campaign manager and strategist, he remains one of the most infamous. Atwater's 1988 campaign had it all....racism, flag burning, mental illness rumors and Kitty Dukakis. He had what I would call a textbook perfect method to harness the fears of the public to win against an otherwise unprepared, weak opponent, Michael Dukakis. Like, Dukakis' campaign many more poorly-run Democratic presidential campaigns would follow (Gore, Kerry). Atwater set a precedent for campaign strategies that would be followed closely by Karl Rove.
